A Turbo 2005-ben született, a 4 alapító tag közös rock and roll iránti szereleméből. A zenekar stílusa leginkább a modern rock – art rock kategóriába tartozik, grunge, progresszív és garage jegyekkel.
2006 elejétől folyamatos koncertezés kezdődött, 2007 tavaszára készült el az első EP “Boarman sessions”-re keresztelve, Thomas Geiger német producer irányításával.
2007 nyarán csatlakozott Ruthner “Jero” Gábor basszusgitáron, akinek bombabiztos groove-ja és intenzív színpadi show-ja tovább erősítette a Turbo energiát.
2008 elején a dobok mögött történt változás, Delov Jávorral kiegészülve a koncertezés mellett töretlenül, nagy lendülettel folytatódtak a rég várt első nagylemez előkészítési próbái.

Az EP-n található One More Time című dalra március elejére elkészült a zenekar első videoklipje, amit a közvélemény és a magyar MTV igen pozitívan fogadott, több hétig előkelő helyen szerepelt a Top Selection listáján, illetve a zenetévé Rock Chart-ján szintén felkerült ez első 5 helyezett közé. A kliphez készült dalt az MR2 Petőfi Rádió is programra tűzte.
A Turbo 2009 januárjában egyedüliként képviselte Magyarországot a hollandiai EuroSonic Fesztiválon, februárban a Subscribe 10 éves szülinapi koncertjén felléptek a PECSA-ban, márciusban pedig a 15 év után újra koncertet adó Bedlam vendégei voltak a Diesel Clubban.
A zenekar 2008. második felében rögzítette első nagylemezének anyagát, amely 2009. február 27-én jelent meg a MamaZone gondozásában.
A 2009-es Sziget Fesztiválon az önálló Turbo koncert mellett a zenekar részt vett a ’Zene a rasszizmus ellen’ elnevezésű koncertsorozaton, valamint az eseményére érkező angol Love Music Hate Racism allstars csapat is a Turbot kérte fel vendégzenésznek a hazai zenekarok közül.
Az egész éves koncertezés és a fesztiválok mellett az év végére elkészült - a Heavyweight Promises c. dalhoz - a Turbo második videója.
Ez év februárjában a Fonogram 2010 Díjátadó Gálán osztatlan sikert arató fellépésük mellett „Az év hazai modern pop-rock albuma” kategóriában elnyert díjjal is gazdagabb lett a zenekar.
Jelenleg a 2010-es tavaszi-nyári turné, illetve az őszre várható második nagylemez előkészületei folynak.

Turbo was born in 2005 from the four founding members’ love of rock and roll. The members are known from earlier Hungarian musical enterprises (e.g. Fresh Fabrik, Warpigs, The Carbonfools, Freedom Republic).

The goal of the band is to convey a true rock experience and it works accordingly. If the band cannot complete this single mission, it will disband and fade away.
By spring 2007 the band completed their first EP christened ”Boarman Session”. The tile derives trivially from the name of a small town near Nürnberg where the material had been recorded (Ebermannstadt). During summer 2007 Jero joined the band on bass (ex-Rémember) whose contribution is an additional energy supply.
At the beginning of 2008 a new drummer, Delov Jávor arrived. His rock spirit and jazz training are the last refinements on the Turbo formula. During summer 2008 the band recorded their first LP which was released in February 2009. In January 2009 the Turbo performed at the famous EuroSonic Festival in Groningen.
Their self-titled first LP was well received by the audience and reviewers alike which paved the way for the band to perform at the major festivals in Hungary during summer 2009. In the meantime the distribution of the LP has been launched in Japan.
In June 2009 the band was invited to give their first acoustic gig ever at the studio of the Hungarian National Radio in front of a small audience. The concert is going to be broadcast during autumn 2009. The acoustic environment provided Turbo a challenging opportunity to reinterpret their songs and get away from their riff-based music to arrive at a more melodic approach.
Mirkó Milosevits, an acclaimed piano genius and sound guru joined the band as a guest musician whose contribution became a real cornerstone in the band's acoustic sound and atmosphere.
In the future Turbo plans to continue their acustic project involving some more guest artists.

In February 2010 the band`s debut album received the Hungarian Fonogram Award in best pop-rock category performing live at the award ceremony which was broadcast by the Hungarian National Television.
Currently Turbo is working on brand new songs for their upcoming album to be released later this year. At the same time they are heading for a heavy festival season performing at all major fesivals in Hungary and also the acclaimed Exit festival in Serbia.
